Spammy Trap is a Twitter account I've created. The point of it is very simple. It's my way of fighting back at the people who use Twitter for really lame marketing purposes. They push all sorts of shit including:

They are basically spammers who use follow notifications. They get their message out in front of thousands of people by follow-spamming.

What does Spammy Trap do then?

Well, the idea is to create a honey trap. If we can get a continuous stream of people who are follow-spammers, then people building Twitter apps can automatically block them. I'm planning to also create a small application that automatically filters unread follower notices in e-mail from follow spammers.

You can help: if you get spammy followers, feel free to casually mention @spammytrap. Hopefully the bots will pick up on your mention of @spammytrap and auto-follow him.

In short: if you are a human rather than a spammer, do not follow @spammytrap or it will tell the world that you are a spammer. If you are a spammer, please follow @spammytrap and tell your spammy friends.
